Amarillo by Morning

I’m taking off in a few minutes for Amarillo, Texas, where I’ll be doing a Walking the Line conference on wisdom, Proverbs, and the Christ-life at Trinity Baptist Church there.

I’m going to miss my flock at Highview this Sunday, a lot. But I’m really excited about this trip because Trinity is pastored by my friend, former student, and former Sunday school co-teacher Nate Magloughlin. Pastor Magloughlin is a proud Southern Seminary alum, and I’m proud of him.

I look forward to seeing how our Lord Jesus is using Nate and his wife Amy there among the good people at Trinity. My student from preaching class, Ryan Miller, is also at Trinity, as student pastor, and I look forward to catching up with him as well.

If you’re in Amarillo, stop by and say howdy.

Now if I could just get that George Strait song out of my head…

Only when we see how lost we are, we can find our way again. Only when we bury what’s dead can we experience life again. Only when we lose our religion can we be amazed by grace again.
